8th Annual Arthropod Genomics Symposium (AGS)

Welcome to the 8th Annual Arthropod Genomics Symposium website.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is pleased to host the Arthropod Genomics Symposium, Thursday to Saturday, June 12-14, 2014.  It has been 14 years since the sequencing of the genome of Drosophila melanogaster, and over a hundred arthropod genomes have been sequenced since then.  The Arthropod Genomics Symposium is an opportunity to reflect on recent progress and explore future directions.

We have planned an array of sessions that reflect the diversity of arthropod genomics, with sessions on the i5k consortium, vector biology, social insects, microbiomes, and population and comparative genomics, as well as a pre-conference workshop on epigenomics.  We hope you will join us for a productive exchange of ideas and viewpoints, and we look forward to seeing you here.
